ArtFocus, Tel Aviv central bus station, Tel Aviv, Israel
Curator: Sarit Shapira
This installation was one of my inaugural public shows, which I had exhibited as part of the first Art Focus project. I constructed works on-site at Tel Aviv’s Central Bus Station in
a neglected urban spot, which served as a hideout for the homeless and Palestinian construction workers who were employed far from home.
The impetus for this show was the discovery of a hole inside a plaster wall in a dilapidated area of the new/old building of the station. The incursion into the hole in the wall became the physical entrance into the installation, lending visitors a layered view of this architectural wasteland.
I reorganized the different objects that I had found strewn there on the filthy floor.
In some cases, I made use of these vestiges of life in the construction of new works.
