Green Scream, 2020

Gallery Har-El, Tel Aviv, Israel

This exhibition was my response to “A Hymn to Green” – A poem written in 2012 by Israeli poet laureate Nathan Zach. In his poem, Zach both celebrated and lamented nature and human nature. Harvesting the metaphors of legacy, Zach reflected on the experience of ripening or maturing and reminisced about his youth. In the installation at Har-El, viewers encountered a sequence of manipulated found objects.

The timing of my installation work during the first Covid-19 lockdown affected the viewers’ experience of the show. Questions regarding mankind’s equilibrium with nature were and are at stake.
