Rose Bleed, 2003

Bronze, 67x86x50cm

The work is a bronze sculpture - a hybrid: half figurative and half molded in the design of a squat latrine. [This toilet is often called ‘Eastern’ toilet, and used in the near and far east]. The sculpture is of a collapsed sex-less figure, which is curled up in a child position. His/ Her boney curled back shows ribs which ‘are one’ with the toilet’s ribbed feet surfaces: the place one would stand on.
