This work is a bronze sculpture of a collapsed, sexless figure that is seen curled up in a childlike position. This piece is also a hybrid; it is half figurative and half molded like a squat latrine – the kind used in the Near and Far East and dubbed “Eastern toilet.”
The figure’s ribs protrude through its boney back, seemingly one with the toilet’s ribbed surfaces that are intended for the placement of the user’s feet.

Rose Bleed, 2003
